My doctor sent a prescription

Here is what happens next and what you need to do. Usually that is one short form, or nothing at all.

What happens next

  1. 1

    We receive it

Your doctor sends it electronically or by fax to the OnPoint store they chose.

  2. 2

    We check coverage

We run your insurance and look for copay cards or savings you qualify for.

  3. 3

    We tell you the cost

The store calls or texts you with what you will pay, before you pay it.

  4. 4

You choose how to get it

Pick up, or get free delivery. Ask the store if same-day delivery is available.

What you need to do

New to OnPoint? Fill out the new patient form so the store has your contact details and insurance. It takes about 5 minutes, and a photo of your insurance card is enough.

Already an OnPoint patient? Nothing to do. The store will contact you. If your insurance, phone number or address changed, update your information.

Do I need to transfer my other prescriptions?

No. The prescription your doctor sent comes straight to us. Your other prescriptions can stay where they are.

If you would like everything in one place, we can transfer your other prescriptions for you. That is a separate request.

Which store has it?

Your doctor's office can tell you which OnPoint store they sent it to. You can also call or text any OnPoint store, or our new-patient team at Carle Place at 516-340-4733, and we will find it.

Need the medication today? Call the store instead of waiting on a form. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Questions about your prescription?

Call or text the store. A pharmacist or technician there can see what your doctor sent.
